Advice on a trip to Peru.?
I've never been there. My husband and I discovered the Miami air transport is reasonable so we decided go. Our schedule is flexible, so as to make the trip when the time is well outdoors. When in Lima I would like to stay in the best area of town conducive to walking around and enjoying the scenery. Seven days is always shorter than you can imagine and we like to know what to do based on the experience of real people. (Also, my husband wants to hike to Machu Picchu.) Thanks in advance for any other consideration.
Wow … 7 days to see Machu Picchu and Lima … not much time for anything. You could go at any time between now and November for the good time … October-November could be a little rainy, but still fully manageable and rain would not stay inside. If you want to do the Inca Trail, go online and book now as they fill up quickly, especially in the summer months. There are lots of different options for the duration of the course is, who decides how much to do based on the amount of time you have and also how the way you are. There is a train that takes you from Cusco to Aguas Calientes (the town below Machu Picchu), which lasts approximately 2 hours and is a beautiful journey train. However, you can walk across that part, but it would take several days, and remember that the altitude is high and etremely since you will not be there for a long time will not have much time to get used to the altitude. There is also a place in the train (somewhere in the middle), which willl leave you and you can start walking From there, a couple of days less than the other. Once in Aguas Calientes, you can take a bus to Machu Picchu which is about 20 minutes by bus, but also you can go on excursions, which would be beautiful, but it is a very steep hill. Once you are currently in Machu Pichu, you have the opportunity to walk Waynapichu, which is a mountain behind Machu Picchu that offers breathtaking aerial views of Machu Picchu (which would totally recommend doing). If you want to do this excursion, is free, but fills up fast etremely! There are only two times during the day, one at like 7 and the other is 10 ish. I recommend doing one at 7, because it is cooler and there are fewer people. However, it is necessary to catch up Machu Pichu 6 am (if you take the bus there has to be one of the first buses day) and once you get there, just take a few pictures, then wait in line for up Waynapichu because only the first 500 or so people can do. Recommend staying in Cusco for a few days, most of your trip, in fact, since in addition to Macchu Pichu, there are archaeological ruins INCREDIBLE (Pisac, Moray, etc.). There is a tourist ticket (tourist ticket) you can buy that will give you free access to 12 different attractions that I would recommend purchase if you is able to go at least half the points there. So far from Lima, I recommend staying in Miraflores as it is one of the safer neighborhoods of Lima and is right on the water so it is very beautiful. There is a very new shopping center right on the water with lots of restaurants and shops. You really only need a day in Lima, it is quite insecure and if you're more in archeology, which undoubtedly will be more impressed with the Cusco. Some other basic tips: Entering a taxi, be sure to negotiate first! Make a waitor, someone who works in a shop or at the airport how much a taxi should cost where it goes, and if the taxi driver trying to tell you more, wait for the next taxi (there are plenty of Thai and you can save some money). The exchange also applies to things in the shops … always You can get the price down to a few suns, just play your cards right. When in Lima, you have to try the ceviche, even if you have had here in the United States, is different there, and I recommend ordering it. If you have any questions, please send and I would be more than happy to help. missmarissa06@yahoo.com
