What are the safest countries in Latin America to study Spanish?
I'm considering going to a program of study tours for a month. The destinations I have to choose between, are the following: "Argentina: Buenos Aires, Cσrdoba, Bariloche, Mendoza Bolivia: Sucre Chile: Santiago de Chile-Costa Rica: Flamingo Beach Heredia Monteverde Cuba: Havana, Santiago de Cuba Trinidad Ecuador: Quito Guatemala: Antigua Mexico: Guanajuato Playa del Carmen, Oaxaca, Puerto Vallarta-Peru: Cuzco-the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo. I'll always be accommodation in a host family, but I'm still concerned about security because my Spanish less than primary, I am a pale white 19 years old (girl ideal victim!), and I'm on my own! Which of these destinations are the safest? I looking for a small town, safe on a beach, is there anything like that between these places? I was told to go to Costa Rica (Playa Flamingo) is safe? Thanks for your time!
Costa Rica is hands throughout the safest country in Latin America in which to learn Spanish. While all destinations in the country are safe, Heredia, would probably be the best. Not for security but for their location. Hall is a centrally located and is closer to midway between the sites different ecotourism. Playa Flamingo is all right, but I have found from experience that while being in a beach town can seem like a good idea at first, if you are going to be there a couple of weeks or else you can get a little boring. In fact I'm going to Costa Rica later this year. Good luck!
