Subduction
The largest earthquake in history was in Chile (May 1960). It was recorded on the Richter scale, since the magnitude a 9.5. The quake sent a tsunami across the enormous destructive way to Japan and the Philippines. This earthquake was caused by subduction. That's when one tectonic plate slides under another of plate tectonics. In this case, the oceanic plate is subducting under the board of Peru in Chile. The interesting thing subduction earthquakes is that they are more often the most powerful.
Strike Slip Slip Slip or
When two tectonic plates come together or failures that can move in a lateral right or left side of the slip slip fashion. This means that two plates can move in opposite directions. The action is called sliding plate sliding or slipping strike and the sliding action creates earthquakes.
Dip Dip Slip Slip or inverse
Dep Slips are caused by compression or extension of a block of crust on top. A dip-slip earthquake is the result of a fall on the plate (compression) or away (extension). Can be the rock forms of manner and form in which the plates of success with that cause it. When one of the plates or slides dips toward the floor, in relation to the block of the crust, called an earthquake slip bath (extension) or a sheet of immersion on the back (compression).
Blind Thrust
A blind thrust earthquake is aa large mass when pushed up. It may be a volcano or simply a large piece of rock. The thrust is below the surface. Since you can not see the drive at ground level, is called a blind thrust earthquake.
These types of tectonic earthquakes is considered. However, earthquakes may also be due to other factors such as volcanic eruptions, landslides, mine or cave, and explosion earthquakes. Basically, anything really shakes the earth is an earthquake.
