How to call cellphones (or other phones) in Lima, Peru nowadays?
Now, I am aware that from the United States and all that jazz you call 011-51-blah blah blah for the calls to Lima, Peru. What I want to know is what would be the rest of this code for calling the yet revised AGAIN numbers for cellular telephones in Lima, Peru. Usually the ones on the MoviStar network, although I would not rule out the changing of other networks as well.
Thanks in advance for any advice. An exact sample number would be greatly appreciated.
let’s see, in Lima since april the cell phone numbers have 9 digits, starting with 99, so you should do the next:
- 011 – 51 – 9 – the previous 8 digit number, or what is the same:
- 011 – 51 – the new 9 digit number (in Lima it only varies the first digit, which is always 9)
for example, if you want to call the previous 9975-1234 that now is 9-9975-1234 you would have to do the next:
- 011 – 51 – 9- 99751234
in any province, it would go this way, for example cusco:
- 011 – 51 – the nine digit number, which will start with 9, and then the next two digits will be the city code, in this case, it will be 84 again, for example, if you want to call the previous 975-1234 that now is 9-84-751234, you would have to do the next:
- 011 – 51 – 984751234
this rule is except in four provinces, as follows:
Arequipa: prefix 95
La Libertad: prefix 94
Lambayeque: prefix 97
Piura: prefix 96
