Does anyone have a simple recipe of Peru?
I am doing a school project in Peru and I bring a plate of food at least 4 people (the # Serve doesn't really matter). I need a real easy recipe, if possible, preferably a dessert, but any other dish is …. ok, does anyone know where I can find one?
PERUVIAN POUND CAKE 2 cream c.sour 1 / 4 cup lemon juice 2 tbsp. sugar 1 / 2 tsp. vanilla 2 (16 oz.) cans (or fresh) sliced peaches, drained pound or angel food cake, sour cream Combine sliced, lemon juice, sugar and vanilla. Chill to blend flavors. Serve peaches over the cake. Top with sour cream mix. Yield 12 servings. ————– Rice Milk 3 cups milk 1 1 / 4 cup water 1 cup rice, short grain or medium 2 cinnamon sticks 1 / 4 teaspoon salt 1 14 oz can of condensed milk 1 / 2 cup raisins, soaked in hot water to soften butter 2 teaspoons vanilla * optional add Bring all milk and water to a slow simmer in large saucepan over medium / low heat. Add the rice, add in cinnamon sticks and barely simmer, uncovered, until rice is softened, which should be about 20-30 minutes. Stir occasionally. When the rice is soft, remove cinnamon sticks and stir in condensed milk, vanilla, salt and raisins. Back to a slight simmer and cook for another 10-15 minutes or until most liquid is absorbed and rice has a creamy texture. Serve hot, covered with a dash of cinnamon or butter. Sigh ————– LimeƱo 1 (14 ounce) can condensed milk 1 (12 fl oz) evaporated milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 egg yolks, beat 2 egg whites, beaten 1 / 2 cup confectioner's sugar 1 / 4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional) 1 cup raspberries, fresh for garnish Whisk together the milk condensed, evaporated milk, vanilla and egg yolks in a saucepan. Place over medium-low and cook gently until the mixture thickens, stirring constantly with a spoon wood, about 30 minutes. Pour the mixture into a heat resistant dish or individual plates to one side. Beat the egg whites and confectioners' sugar until stiff. Spread meringue on top of the milk mixture. Refrigerate until cold, at least 3 hours. Sprinkle with cinnamon before serving. Garnish with raspberries. ———- Here is a website that has some other ideas for popular Peruvian desserts … http://south-american-food.suite101.com/article.cfm/popular_peruvian_desserts hope this helps! =)
