Desert Travel in Peru?
Are there tours that you can take in Peru in the desert region. In different physical maps images of yahoo does not show the areas of desert in southern Peru and want to know if there is good travel. Theres a website that shows you that you can go sandboarding and sand driving a buggy at a place called Huacachina. Are there any tours you can take horse or something?
Peru has a long coastline which is basically a desert (Semi-desert in reality). The largest desert is in northern Peru, in Piura Sechura desert. The mentioned in Ica, 3 hours south of Lima. Huacachina is really an oasis in the desert of Ica. You can do sandboarding and buggy riding, horseback riding, e tc. There are guided but the best are those who take from the Hotel Las Dunas (Ica, Peru) You can also go to Paracas (about an hour to Lima from Ica) where you can also do these things also can visit the Paracas National Reserve (In the desert).
