Travelling in Peru?
Just some places i wondered how long it took to get to:
The Machu Picchu from Cuzco city along the Inca trail
and
The sacred valley from Cuzco city
How long does it take to travel to each of these destinations by walking? Can you walk? and are there bungalows along the inca trail
The inca trail takes about 3 days from Ollantaitambo. There are no bungalows on the way. You need to hire a certified guide and have the “tickets” for every person that plant to go on the trail (the guide will usually take care of that. The Peruvian ministry of cuture sells only 500 tickets per day which means that there are no more than 500 people, including guides and porters, in the trail at any given day).
I suppose you could walk the sacred valley, but there is a paved road so nobody really does that. You can get fairly good hotels in the Sacred Valley.
