I am a United States citizen who just married a citizen of Peru I'm about to move to California from nj What
do? Does come with me and transfer of his case to califrnia?
Well … depends on how quickly they will move to California and when this visa people will expire. If he moved to California before his visa expires you must go to your local INS office to file a change of status based on marriage to an American citizen, however, if you are in California before their visa expires, you can wait until you get to record the work on paper. The first thing you will need to file a petition immigrant visa. You must also make sure that your income is sufficient to be considered in order to support your spouse, if this is not the case you may need a family to sponsor them. To verify this you may want to go to the local INS office before you move. Good luck!
