Questions about Peru.?
1. What are the major sports in Peru? 2. Holidays? (Celebrated everywhere all Peru?) 3. What is a typical dish of food, and everything else is popular? 4. Best attraction / tourist attractions in Peru? Thanks! Provide a link if possible with your answers.
Hello. My wife is from Peru and shes says: 1. The most popular sport by far is "football" – As they call soccer in the U.S.. Also volleyball, basketball and when they have to be rich to play these. People with more money could be in courts and Club luxury. A sport that we never see in the UK is 'Fronton' – another cheap. They also have some very good surfers – the places in the north and Mancora are surfing destinations. 2. Major religious events like Christmas and Easter are often holidays. There are national days such as Mother's Day, Day Valentine, Halloween, November 1st is the Day of the Dead Mayday – the first of May to the workers. Independence Day is July 28. Each city has their own holiday, Arequipa is August 15. 3. Foods that can depending on where you are in the country. Most food is often of local origin, so if you live on the coast, you can eat more seafood, if you lived in the mountains can eat potatoes and meat, and in the jungles you eat other foods. Some foods are very common in Peru. Chinese immigrants in the past have created a popular food called "Chifa" which is like a fast food is very cheap. People throughout Peru eat potatoes and corn (potatoes came from this region). Famous dishes are 'Lomo Skipped, "" Arroz con Pollo "," Pope to Huancayna "and" ceviche ", which is made with raw fish and lime. Peru has many immigrants from all over the world, so its quisine is very interesting. I placed a link below to help wikipedia. When I go to Peru I like the fact that the food is so good. Climate / s Peru, means there is a lots of fresh, sweet fruit and vegetables tasty and creative cuisine. 4. Of course, Machu Picchu is world famous, but Peru has much to offer. It has all kinds of weather, people go hiking in the mountains covered with snow, surf on tropical beaches, exploring the Amazon River, there are deserts in the south. It is a very interesting and people eager to see Machu Picchu and fly back a long way. My wife comes from Arequipa, a beautiful city built on white volcanic stone. It has some interesting things to visit their Monestery such as Santa Catalina and a couple of hours to the Colca Canyon, which is deeper than the Grand Canyon where you can see the old farm terraces and go rafting. You can explore the Amazon from Iquitos in northern Peru, staying in a hut in the jungle and goes for hikes to see wildlife jungle or know the people of the jungle. If you go to the northern beaches around Mancora, you can stay in a beach hut and surf and sunbathe and watch spectacular sunsets. I hope it is useful and can visit Peru one day!
