My great grandfather was Japanese, does that mean you can become a Japanese citizen?
My great great grandfather on my mother emigrated to Peru some years ago and married the mother of my grandmother. I know you must have a Japanese anscestor or something to become a citizen, does that count?

This category allows long-term residence and employment of any kind, although it does not confer citizenship without going through the naturalization process. Due to several high-profile crimes in recent years Nikkeijin (around 2007) Japanese politicians have said that imposing additional restrictions or perhaps review background of applicants for this visa category. Hope this helps
