Rules for the selection of food combinations are:

1. Carbohydrates not be mixed with acidic foods. This is because sour foods off the action of saliva is necessary for the digestion of carbohydrates. saliva can act properly only in an alkaline environment.
2. Large amounts of protein and large amounts of carbohydrates should not be taken at the same meal. These two types of foods are digested in different parts digestive tract and in different media (or carbohydrates are digested in the mouth or in the small intestine in an alkaline environment, proteins are digested in the stomach at acidic pH).
3. Large amounts of protein should not be taken simultaneously with large amounts of fat (eg Dal and ghee). The reason is the same that the above rules.
4. protein foods should not be ingested with sour fruits. For example, if the lemon juice or tomatoes are added to Dal, acids of these fruits cause a decrease in the secretion of digestive juices, which makes digestion less efficient.

Components of different foods:

Proteins: Vegetables, milk, meat, fish, eggs, etc.

Hydrates Carbon: wheat, rice, millet, other cereals, roots, tubers number, etc. may be taken with the vegetables listed below.

Vegetables: leafy green vegetables, cucumber, pumpkin, bitter gourd, cabbage, cauliflower, tomatoes, eggplant, ladies finger, peas, pumpkin candy, etc.

Bitter-sweet fruits: orange, mosambi, apple, grape, pomegranate, myrobalan, mango, plum, blackberry, raspberry, lychee, cherry, pear, pineapple, etc.

Sweet fruits: figs, papaya, bananas, dates, sugarcane, sweet berries, Peru, raisins, etc.

Healthy combinations:

• Protein with vegetables
• Carbohydrates with vegetables

Unhealthy combinations:

• Protein with sweet and sour fruit
• Proteins with carbohydrates
• Carbohydrates with sweet fruits
• The protein to fat
• Vegetables with Fresh Fruit
