Questions about Peru?
I am doing a project in Peru and need help with the follwing questions: What is the average home there? What is the annual income? What is transport? What energy sources are used? What is the cost of living? What is the level of recycling / composting of waste? If I could answer one or some of the questions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:)
My husband and I are there now as I write. We just had a day of sightseeing in the Sacred Valley away from Cuzco. Tomorrow we go by train to Machu Picchu! We are tired, but I I'm in the hotel's business center where we stayed. To answer your questions … The house is very simple style of stone and adobe house-o. I did not notice ANY houses one in whole or in Lima or Cusco or Sacred Valley in the land of the Inca in the Andes around us. It's beautiful! Annual income ….. I have not taken the time to find out, but the income is very small and is far from being a rich country. Transportation …. cars, vehicles such as buses, trains, ferries. Lima, in particular, is a city with heavy traffic. Energy …. only you and I would have in terms of heating, air conditioning, electricity, though ….. poorest people have no energy and traveling 30 minutes away by water when necessary. Which to hang clothes on the roofs of a clothing line or a rope to dry. Cost of living, have not ventured in calling for one, sorry. Recycling, etc – that is waste ….. beware the bathrooms are far and few who have toilet paper, and when they do, wrapped a small piece to use. Some have none, and when you have finished using it, DO NOT go into the toilet. You are asked to dispose of in a trash can small forever. The hotels have toilet paper, and restaurants … do, as well as shopping centers. It is quite clean and smell of waste in any area I've noticed. The poorest (many), is well run down, children and adults are not real clean, and the houses are shacks severely degraded. But the beauty if imazing! There's more to Peru that I could write, but wanted to stay on the subject to your questions. We are 8 days and are enjoying emensely. Our dream is to see one of 7 amazing wonders of this world …. Machu Picchu. , OP
