peru education system
Does anyone have any information on education policy in Peru?

What are schools like in terms of quality, etc. What are the latest issues with the educational system? Where can I find more information about this?

I was a teacher in Lima for 4 years and let me tell you schools are not as bad as the previous person said! Yes, there are some very poor schools in slums, but there are several schools private are not expensive and give the best quality every time. There are private schools in Lima, Arequipa, Huaraz, Piura, Cajamarca, where the IB program has been incorporated. Notch private schools superior Lima has one of the best results in terms of IGCSE and IB results abroad! The best private schools are British or French. The American School not very popular as the standard in education is very low compared with that of schools either British or French. I regret to say this, as an American, but I saw when I lived there, American national curriculum is a little lower compared to the national curriculum of England and the type of work they do in British schools. Yes, public school teachers failed the exam recently, but those are the new teachers who are looking for a place in a school public. I had the opportunity to visit some public schools in rural areas, despite the poverty, the quality of teaching was not so bad. see page website of the Ministry, where you'll find statistics and information on policies, etc. There are many private schools in Lima that are not expensive and provide good education that homeschooling is not an option in Peru.
