South America-how safe it is for travelers?
I am a single traveler who likes female an adventure abroad each year! I've heard some recent horror stories about sexual assualts severe in women in the area of Peru / Ecuador (where I am traveling!) Are there strategies I should know their trips to these countries? I am alone, but, fortunately, have booked a trip for the rest of my stay. Thanks!
I spent three months in Ecuador alone and felt quite safe. I met a girl has her purse stolen in the "EcovĂa" which is the tram system in Quito, there are warnings everywhere about wearing the backpack on the front ur ur while on the tram, but never that escaped from her purse. Making taxis are genuine with a great number in the side of the taxi drivers are very common false and can steal u. I went to some smaller cities and felt good going out to dinner alone, walking in the dark. I never I heard of serious sexual assaults, while I was there, though all the girls get much attention in the streets, including the appropriation of funds by men old
