Activities to do with a class that relate to the culture of Peru and / or traditions?
I have to do an activity with a group of students who take about 10 minutes. I want to have a lot of movement and participation. Furthermore, it should be something that people do in Peru and that Peru is a tradition, or food, or anything! Simply, which is something that is specific to Peru?
All I could think to do in such a short time, and I got the idea before seeing little school children in the street. He's making a procession with a cardboard and paint Refuse Señor de los Milagros (Lord of Miracles). If www.cucurrucu.com/procesin-seor-de-los-milagros/ http://www.mamaflor.com/2009/10/listones-decorar-un-cuadro-del-senor-de.html http:// For an explanation about this search of religious tradition in my previous answer last week about the religious traditions in PERU, the last part that tells us about the origin of tradition. Need I add that the main day of the procession is on Oct. 28 because that is the date on which the largest earthquake in Lima in 1746, should I add that 75% of the city was destroyed and a tsunami followed killed 90% of people in the port of Callao. As you can see, purple and white are the colors of the procession. BTW The traditional deer dance is part of Maya culture (Mexico, Guatemala and Belize) I regret to say no to Peru.
