The Colibri is a wilderness retreat and healing center specializing in shamanic plant spirit medicine and traditional cures.
We provide a safe haven for contemporary seekers to find healing and vision they need through the effective use of shamanic techniques and drugs tested in the jungle, leading to the resolution, the well-being, positive change and happiness – in short, to a better world.
We take our name from the hummingbirds (Hummingbird), which in Peru is the guardian of healers and seekers cure or desire to learn the shamanic arts and the wisdom of the plants.
Located 14 kilometers from the jungle city of Iquitos in the Amazon jungle we offer healing retreats with some of the respected and most powerful ayahuasceros (ayahuasca shaman) as well as workshops and training with some of the world's most progressive thinkers.
ABOUT U.S.
The Colibri is a private organization Center retirement owned and operated by Tracie Thornberry and Ross Heaven.
Tracie is a counselor specializing in drug addiction therapy previously directed the Quiet Healing Center in Iquitos. Professionally trained and qualified to integrate shamanism, plant spirit medicine and working with ayahuasca and San Pedro in their therapeutic programs to provide a more effective way of bringing people to wellness. She has extensive experience with forest medicine and has assisted hundreds of ceremonies ayahuasca shamans of many different, attendance at work.
Ross is a psychologist, therapist and author of over 10 books on shamanism, spirituality and healing, including the best known works well on ayahuasca and San Pedro, Plant Spirit Shamanism and Hummingbird's The Journey to God. The first time I visited Peru to take these medications in 1998 and has worked with many of the country's best known and respected both in the shamans Amazon and co-facilitating workshops in Europe and the United Kingdom. He has drunk ayahuasca and more than 200 times and conducted workshops on medicinal plants and ceremonies throughout Europe for several years. Since 2007 has also brought groups of the Amazon and the Andes to work with ayahuasca and San Pedro in the Earth Magic Cactus Vision Travel.

The focus of our work is about the vision and healing, a term which, in the Amazon, has a broader meaning than its Western use and refers to a result produced ultimately beneficial for the restoration and positive balance to the mind, emotions and spirit as well as the physical.
We offer an old pioneer road to these results still to mix our experience of shamanism, ceremonies of medicine and therapeutic arts with the knowledge of indigenous healers embody a compassionate desire, sincere and deep to help your healing and personal transformation.
Our passion is to ensure that the benefits of ayahuasca deep within everyone's reach while while preserving the wisdom of tribal peoples, culture, medicine and healing methods.
OUR PLACE AND ACCOMMODATION
The Colibri is located on 11 acres of beautiful rainforest, well away from the hustle and bustle of urban life. Some of our land is virgin forest that has remained pure for generations, and some garden is open with trees and flowers where you can also see the blue sky (a rarity in the jungle!) We have some lovely walks, a beautiful lake and trees and bright flowers blooming in all colors of the rainbow.
Accommodation is in traditional palm leaf thatched huts called drums or in the big house – the "big house" – a long wooden house to be renovated for the individual bedrooms have privacy and space you need for your personal work and reconnect with nature, but never feel isolated or alone, some of the best of both worlds.
All rooms are clean and comfortable and have a bed with a mosquito net (although the mosquitoes are rarely a problem in this case), a lamp, a desk and chair – and nothing else. This is authentic jungle accommodation, used for centuries by indigenous peoples, and no gadgets, TV, Internet or other "mod cons" to get in the way of his experience so you can put aside the outside world and focus on healing work with ayahuasca, vine of souls
The brew is made from ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) and leaves chacruna plant (Psychotria viridis). It is said that a shaman can find many sources of both by listening to the heartbeat heart "that emanates from them.
The mixture is prepared by cleaning the vid specially chosen and adding them and leaves the water. Icarus, the shaman's healing songs are an integral part of the experience of ayahuasca and direct the ceremony and the visions that may arise. The shaman has songs for the needs of each person, the vibrations of healing energies which convened in words that speak of nature's ability to heal.
As the shaman sings you might even see these things in their views (ayahuasca was once known by the scientific name telepathine due to their ability to work in this way). Another common experience is to see a rainbow of transmission of the shaman's mouth as he sings, becoming white or colored light as healing entering your energy field.
Healing takes place as the vibrations of these songs to reorder the patterns, waveforms and frequency of your system power, empowerment and also address has drunk ayahuasca so you can act with greater intensity and focus on its behalf.
As a result of this change in the energy that is converted, in a sense, a new person who can see and understand life from a new perspective and sadness, illness, anger or other waste energy can be transmuted into ecstasy, welfare and love.
