My husband only married me for green card?
I patition for my husband and two children to obtain their green cards. We were married almost 4 years when the INS officers came to our house. I told my husband that I got scared and called his ex-wife. A few days later she said her parents were ill and had to return to Peru. Soon after, I received COBRA papers (which usually receive after leaving work) and also received a phone call unually for an activity high on our joint credit card. This is when you discover that my husband and his ex-wife fled back to Peru. Now I'm stuck trying to divorce him, but I have no idea how to start and no idea how to get proof that this was obviously a sham marriage. I tried to get his file from the INS as your patition but I was told to request the information through the Freedom of Information Act. (It usually takes several months, if not a year or so) there a better way to divorce my husband? (Note: I have no money for a lawyer, even through legal aid has already proven ….)
Try to get a lawyer pro bono or a lawyer in Peru. Maybe get an annulment?
