Go to Colombia have suggestions, advice or recommendations?

Hey so im traveling with my sister and brother to Cartagena, Colombia for a week and somewhere the mountains not far supposingly a little dangerous for a couple of days. Im looking for recommendations on good hotels, restaurants, shops, activities, attractions, bars, nightlife and beaches. So, of course, traveling with my sis and bro the best way to keep them safe. Are you going to bring on board more than a Taser. I know that someone will say why the U.S. talking about Colombia Ive also have been big problems in the ghetto of Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit did not bother me, but I do not know what to expect in Colombia not there. Where should I avoid. I know that Cartagena is safe, but is there anywhere, anything or anyone to avoid. common scams. They were new to travel to Costa Rica was Mexico, Peru, Jamaica, Canada, UK, Spain, France, Italy, Netherlands, Turkey. Pops told me to keep them safe. But where to go there so def fun about fun stuff

I am Colombian and I used to work for U.S. Embassy in Bogota used to take a lot of trips to Cartagena with U.S. diplomats, so I can say it is safe to go, you will a wonderful time, the place you're going in the mountains is the Tairona Park in the city is lost, or at least that's my guess, nothing to worry, the guides know where take, for what it really is not even a problem, as the city of Cartagena largest tourism in Colombia, so that is, people around the world now you are a traveler, as I do so is not much difference as far as the rest of Latin America countries just do me a favor, when in Cartagena van Creppes to ask restaurants and waflles and passion fruit juice, order a burger El Corral road and enjoy if anything, you can always say you're Canadian which works well
