Capsicum Peppers Origin

Capsicum is a genus of plants in the family of Solanaceae cultivated for thousands of years by the peoples of tropical America.

The term or Chile pepper is widely used and refers only the smaller, hot types of peppers fruit. Your spelling is common in Spanish although the name varies depending on location. For example, South America is best known as chili, peppers or hot pepper, while U.S. is called pepper and in Canada and the United Kingdon and pepper only.
