The Saints?

I love stories about the Saints. Saint Martin de Porres of Peru is an interesting Saint.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_de_Porres

His work on behalf of the poor was tireless: he established an orphanage and a children’s hospital. He maintained an austere lifestyle, which included fasting and forswearing meat.

His devotion to prayer was notable even by the pious standards of the age. Among the many miracles attributed to him were those of levitation, bilocation, miraculous knowledge, instantaneous cures and an ability to communicate with animals.

It is said that he also was able to feed a dog, a cat, and a mouse together from a same dish; the three didn’t fight among themselves, making him one of the saint patrons of animals.

His dark complexion caused his father to be ashamed of him and his mother, and to abandon them. Later the father would regret his too rapid decision, and take Martin under his protection.

I like him also! Thats why we honor the saints , because when we do we give honor and glory to God, who alive in his Angels and in his Saints!! God bless you!
