[Don Cipriano Interviewed by: Dennis Siluk 4/17/2006] an old man Hea is maybe five feet two inches tall, 100-pounds, more or less are in the business of man mono 56-years. But nobody really knows how it began, so far. He was twenty years old, working in parks Limaa as Gardner. The year was 1950 when heÂ'd change professions, at which time there were many men in this business, the business of Monkey Man, that is, they all had a monkey or two, and three box foot to keep the monkey, and a music box made especially for this box, nailed to the top of the top box for this profession and was a kind of scenario for the dancing monkey, while the teacher of the monkey after the leaves of music inside the box, and people danced (those were the days, he said), the man who chains used to bring music for him, not back in twenty years, so it's a mate takes a few coming out of his old mono-BoxA not loud music at all (and so the ball is stopped): the painting is red and blue, made of wood. There is a fund for the stage attached to the top of the box, the monkey jumps on: looks like a scene from the jungle, I think a real painting.

How he got into the business was when he stopped working for the park, and an old man of 80 years old, gave his first monkey, perhaps his real break: Martina name, and that monkey music borrowed from another stage of Mana (or box), and made some money.

It was a Shortly before 1970, when he bought his own stage and music box, which now carries on his back through the crowded street in the Park of Miraflores, Lima, Peru, every day, every day of the week, as the sun sets. He paid $ 50.00 for the box, and has offered up to $ 2500, for the box. A "people," he says, a 'buy the box, put it in their homes for decorations, and all my friends sell theirs, and now IÂ'm alone with around … and a joba … Â "he says came from Italy, and no place to get another. He adds, a" Before there were six or seven of us in each parks, "but of course that was then, and now, is only Mr. Cyprian, the last of his race.

I have, my wife and I, ie I spoke with Mr. Cipriano during the past six years, and maybe thata why I spoke of his fifty-six years in this business. He says the picture is only one value $ 300, but it is their livelihood. He adds in so many words: money comes and goes, to sell the painting that left me out of business, as my companions.

He is a small man about five feet two inches tall, maybe 100 pounds, as first mentioned in the beginning of this article, seventy-six years of age, wearing a white cowboy hat, blue pants usually white shirt, white whiskers appear when a shave, and loves his monkey. His second monkey, Rosita, has retired, she is perhaps 40 years old and stays with him and his wife in Lima. The monkey who works with him every day is called Martina, 12-year-old monkey live female.

In the past, his monkeys have been in soap operas, and once in a newspaper of New York, who is very proud of it. I even used it to a book I wrote some time ago called "the mumbler, Â" I would a background in history, and Mr. Cipriano gave a copy of the book, he and his son liked. Chusty, a renowned painter of Miraflores, and a friend of mine, not the painting of water Monkey Man on the cover of the book.

He is a man modest, and apparently happy with their lot in life. Mr. Cipriano must follow and comply with the Lord, and do not want this, which is left to entertain all those young people and higher at the park in Miraflores, I hate to say: none of his ability, remains alone in his office, if one can call the trade, I think it is a vocation that is needed to put body and soul, and live day by day.

I do not know if it pays well, but raised a family in it, and put their children to through school, and I suppose if the back stays, take that step heÂ'll heavy music box through this busy street, and work as a slave in managing, and have your monkey into the box and choose a note for each person willing to spend a sun (.33 cents), for his good fortune.
