Why "people" think that the U.S. is to blame for the world's pollution?
This is a list of the ten most polluted places Land: Sumgayit, Azerbaijan *, Linfen, China, China Tianying, *; Sukinda, India *, Vapi, India *, La Oroya, Peru Dzerzhinsk, Russia Norilsk, Russia, Chernobyl, Ukraine Kabwe, Zambia http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20745214/
Jealousy, pure and simple. The nations of the world are envious of our prosperity and relative freedom. That's why we blame for everything, including bad weather even when they have a mouth full of food donated by people in the U.S.. It's amazing how quickly Fortet people in other countries than the U.S. is the country which leaves them the trouble of his own creation. Some of the other answers here regarding the use of CFCs and houses are out in left field stands. The homes, which are the cheapo big ugly houses, are appearing in Australia, Europe and even Asia, so not the fault of the United States. In fact, the worst, most pompous, the most disgusting examples of bully-boxes are being built here in the U.S. by resident aliens or immigrants from India, Arab countries and South America. The traditional American values of thrift and the balance is not working at all in the case of the mansions. Most Americans live in houses of reasonable size. As for CFC to go, U.S. was the first to stop using them despite the connection with the hole in the ozone layer is unstable at best. Part of the problem with the association of the CFC with the hole in the ozone layer is that the very existence of that hole was questionable to begin with, and even more questionable the idea that if it existed, was caused by human activity. In one day, the volcano in the Philippines, Mount Pinatubo, the gases emitted more dangerous than civilization can emit in a year. It is unlikely that the U.S. was responsible for the ozone hole may or may not be there first.
