South America on a budget: it is possible that the Ecuador?
My husband and I are planning a trip next summer. As much as I love see Machu Picchu, Peru, do not think it will be possible for us with our budget. I have really wanted to walk through the jungle and the Amazon, but I want to see some ruins. Ecuador seems to be a possibility. We have a budget of about $ 2500 for 1-2 months not including airfare. Any advice?
I Ecuador returned from about 3 weeks. I went and worked in a children's camp called Camp Unpes, but was in the jungle. THERE Amazon in Ecuador (one replied that there was) full of animals will never see anywhere else. I have to play with monkeys, ocelot hold a baby and do all sorts of things. The volcano higher asset in Ecuador (its safe for him not to worry), and is absolutely beautiful. There is snow on one side, and a lava coming out soon on the other side. It was an amazing show. Everything is very cheap there, and you can bargain in most places. A 12 oz bottle of Coca-Cola is like 40 cents. There are also a heap of ruins. Is a very poor country, but absolutely amazing. Nowhere else can see how impressive mountains and volcanoes and then see the beautiful rain forest and filled with animals and amazing plants and rivers. Challenging, a great place to go:) If you have any questions please email me.
