How much money is to travel by Peru / Chile for a couple of months?

I know this question is a bit ambiguous, but from their own experiences travel that much money do you think would be wise? i do not live very generous and I'm not planning many nights in the city "because I would get drunk travelers to get away from that. and prices of hotels, etc. and common food and any other information useful for a traveler of 19 years open to new experiences.

Hi. I would recommend going to www.hostelworld.com I just did a search and found in Peru Cusco hostels for $ 10 a day. A few of them. Now there are some hostels in cusco for $ 7 a day and the cheapest I found was 6.50 That's in dollars. I went to that website and find a cheap place to stay in a while back when I was in Guatemala and I split a room with a guy from france and we paid $ 10 per piece for a dollar 20 room. but Cusco Peru, has some good deals if. I'd say maybe 800 or a thousand dollars would be good for a couple of months so he can have money to spend and share. Sometimes your even cheaper to rent a house to stay in a hostel. If you're staying in a city then try to look for signs that say in rental houses and apartments and rent a room for the month and you can save money. Sometimes a room for a month may be $ 100 a month. You can eat cheaply if you go where the locals are away from the tourist areas and go a little ways below where the locals eat and select the menu and maybe catch a bus to a poorer area and select the menu there so you can eat cheaply. An electric stove is also good to have. You can buy one for $ 20 and then go into the store and Bacon BLT sandwhichs cooking wherever they are. I have a portable stove and is very useful when i move around, when the movement ii luggage in my suitcase.
