Brazil to South Africa via cargo ships, how long does it take?
I would love to catch a cargo ship or a cruise from Rio de charge Santos in Brazil or going nowhere in Africa in early 2007. I'll be touring South America from Lima, Peru on December 31, 2006 and will arriving at Rio de Janeiro Carnival time in mid-February 2007. I'm looking to catch a load of around this time. As a budget traveler, the price is extremely important. So far I have found that NSB freighter carrying passengers about 80 euros a day. So my question is, how many days it takes to get from Santos, Brazil to Durban Africa through the load? Anyone have ideas of other companies that can make a similar trip cheaper? I'm just trying to go in one direction. Preferably from Brazil to Africa. However, I am open to go west of South America to China! Thank you very much .. I hope that reading these responses!
This depend on the shipping line, I'd say about three weeks. The trip looks like fun. Good luck.
