Information on the flag of Peru?
Ok, so I have to write a paragraph on the flag of Peru. I looked everywhere for a good information, but I can not find any. I help? I wonder what are the symbols of the flag are and what they mean. How did you become on the flag is. Anything would be helpful.
I'll give you the short version, not the Wiki (yes, anyone can copy and paste), but Peruvian real: The flag is red-white-red (vertical stripes) and the colors came from Peru or Pariguanas Flamencos when San Martín (who fought for independence) I saw flying in the sky over the Bay of Paracas. Red signifies the blood shed in the war of independence, white symbolizes peace. The shield in the center represents the 3 kingdoms: mineral, animal and plant. The plant kingdom is represneted by the cinchona tree (or tree of quinine), the animal kingdom is represented by the vicuña and the mineral kingdom is represented a cornucopia filled with coins of Golgo. The current Peruvian flag is the third who designed the first had diagonal stripes, the second horizontal (much like the Spanish flag so they threw that one away) and one with vertical lines.
